Fa Cup Final Betting

The FA Cup Final Is all over bar the shouting if you believe the bookmakers who have installed Chelsea as hot favourites at 7/10 (Coral) for tomorrow's final.

We think it wil be a close match however and think that Evcerton will make it very hard for Chelsea. Four of the last five league encounters between the two teams have ended in draws and we wouldn't be too surprised to see the draw 13/5 (Betfred) being the result after 90 minutes tomorrow.

The under 2.5 goals at 8/15 (Paddypower) is a bet we wil be taking, especially as the last two finals have ended uop in a 1-0 scoreline.

We're going to tip Everton to run out narrow winners at 9/2 (William Hill) and we will be going for a 1-0 correct score bet at odds of 12/1 (Betfair).

We're also going for Tim Cahill 11/1 (Paddypower) to be the man who gets the goal for Everton.

Beach 'n' Blog

Blog entries will be a bit thin on the ground over the next couple of weeks as we're going to be off sunning ourselves for fortnight.

We will be online to cover the Champion's league final and the FA Cup final however and we're going to leave you with a couple of bets we fancy for the Championship play off game on Monday between Burnley and Sheffield United.

We're tipping Burnley to win at 2.92 and we think the under 2.5 goals at 1.63 is also worth taking.

We're also tipping the correct score of 1-0 to Burnley at 8.2

The prices here are from the Betdaq website.

Football Betting - Final Day Premier League Matches

Below is an excerpt from our Friday Football tips article which you can read in full at our website www.pickabet.co.uk

Maybe the thought of a well earned rest after a long season has addled the brains of the bookmakers, but there does look to be some great value bets out there this weekend.

Middlesbrough have only two away wins on the board all season and having only managed one goals in their last four visits to Upton Park we think the chances of them getting the three points they need to have any chance of survival is extremely slim. We have to go for a home win here at cracking odds of 11/8 (Betfred).

Sunderland’s finishing has been awful recently and taking Chelsea to win to nil at 2/1 (William Hill) is a bet we’re recommending.

Chelsea look a banker bet and you should be getting on at the Evens (Betfred) that is available. Our correct score selection is a 2-0 win for Chelsea 9/1 (Sportingbet). Salomon Kalou is our selection to be first goalscorer at 9/1 (Paddypower).

Tottenham have decent record at Liverpool and they can take a share of the points in this one. We’re going for a draw 3/1 (Stan James) with a 1-1 scoreline 41/5 (Betfair).

Rangers haven’t won in their last four visits to Tannadice and with three of the last five meetings between the teams ending in draws this is by no means a gimme for Rangers. One bet we will be having here is the over 2.5 goals at 8/11 (Paddypower).

Rangers look a bit short to us at 2/5 (William Hill) and we’re tempted by the price of Dundee United to win at 6/1 (Paddypower) but we are going to select the draw 11/4 (Partybets). The 2-2 score 22/1 (Stan James) and the 3-3 score 80/1 (Sportingbet) are the two bets we’ll be having a small stake on.

Monaco Grand Prix Preview

From a betting point of view there seems to be a bit of value around in this race. In the past there has been some surprise results at Monaco and given performances so far this season it would be a bit of a shock if Hamilton and McLaren were to win.

The reigning champ is 8/1 (Stan James) to win the race and he could be a bit of value. His team mate Heikki Kovalainen is 7/2 (Paddypower) to finish in the top six and that looks possible if he can transfer his first practice times into the race itself.

Mark Webber has lots of experience and that’s always a plus around the Monaco circuit. At 14/1 (William Hill) Webber looks a really attractive betting proposition and if he can get a place near the front of the grid we believe he can be a potential winner at a big price.

Williams normally get the cars set up right for the street circuits where all out speed isn’t the main factor and with Rosberg in pole after the second practice session we wouldn’t be surprised to see them go well in the actual race.

Rosberg is still available at 40/1 (Sportingbet) to win the race and a small stake at that price looks worthwhile. The 11/1 (Skybet) about Rosberg making the podium is a bet we will definitely be on.

UEFA Cup Final Betting

It's the last ever UEFA Cup Final tonight and we're hoping we can make the last final a winning one.

Shakhtar are the underdogs to win the match tonight at 9/5 (Betfred) and while it's true they don't have a lot of experience in European competitions at the latter stages, they have beaten Spurs, CSKA Moscow and Marseille on their way to the final and shouldn't be underestimated.

Shakhtar go into tonight's game having won their last six games and we're tempted to take them to win in the 90 minutes, but we don't think there will be a lot between the teams and the draw 11/5 (888Sport) is going to be our selection.

Our feeling is this game could go right to the wire and with three of the last eight finals going into extra time it could be the 9/1 (Paddypower) on either team to win in extra time has to be considered.

We're tipping the game to end all square after 90 minutes and we're going to go for the draw 11/5 (888Sport) the 2-2 correct score at 16/1 (Stan James) is worth a bet at a decent price as well.

Our first goalscorer selection is going to be Fernandinho 11/1 (Sportingbet).

We've decided to post some late bets on the blog tonight.

In tonight's Premier Leagur game between Portsmouth and Sunderland we have a couple of bets we think can bring a return.

We're going for a Portsmouth win 5/4 and we think they can also win to nil 13/5.

Our correct score forecast is for a 2-0 win at odds of 9/1. Our pick for first goalscorer is David Nugent at 7/1.

There are two race meetings taking place tonight and our placepot picks are at Windsor

Weekend Football Tips

Plenty of important games taking place this wekend and here's a few of our betting tips that we think could be winning bets.

Manchester United only need to take a point from Arsenal at Old Trafford to clinch another Premier League title. United hard to work hard for their victory over Wigan in midweek and Arsenal will be working hard to try and deny United from lifting the title against them.

Manchester United are 4/6 (William Hill) to win and have won four of the last six league meetings between the two teams at Old Trafford.

The last four games have all produced more than two goals and with that in mind we’re going to go for the over 2.5 goals bet at 4/5 (888Sport). We are also selecting both teams to score at 4/5 (Sportingbet).

We’re taking Manchester United to win with a small stake on the 2-1 correct score 7/1 (Partybets). Our pick as first goalsorer is Wayne Rooney 5/1 (William Hill).

Stoke at 11/10 (Partybets) should beat an out of form Wigan team and we’re going for a narrow 1-0 win for the home team 7/1 (Betfair).

Scotland

Hamilton and Motherwell meet in a local derby and so far in previous meetings this season the home team has won on each occasion. Hamilton are our selection at 32/19 (Betdaq) and we think they are worth backing to win the match to nil at 3/1 (Paddypower). The 2-0 scoreline is going to be our selection 9/1 (William Hill).

These are just a selection of bets that come from our Friday Football Tips article at our website.

Plenty of betting opportunities Today

If you fancy a bet today there's plenty of options available on different sports. There are play off games tonight both North and South of the border,s and the Dante meeting at York continues today with the big race being The Dante Stakes at 2:40.

In the League One Play off match tonight Leeds are one goal down from the first leg against Millwall and are favourites at 1.6 to get a win tonight. We think they will win and we're recommending a bet on the 2-0 correct score at 7.50.

In Scotland we think there will be a win for Airdrie at odds of 2.25 and Stenhousemuir can win at 2.45 against Queens Park

The big race at York today is the Dante Stakes at 2:40 and our selection for this afternoon is the Saeed Bin Suroor trained Kite Wood available at odds of 6.00

The horse won the Group 3 Autumn Stakes at Ascot last year when with Michael Jarvis and if he hes retained that level of ability will go very close today.

The odds quoted above are all from the bwin website and they are currently offering a £30 free bet when you sign up for an account.

our bet of the day runs at Bath this evening and is My Shadow.

Football Betting Tonight -United to Stay On Top

There are a few games taking place tonight and we've give our thoughts on the two big games North and South of the border.

Manchester United only need four points to retain the Premiership title and they can get three of them when they visit Wigan tonight. Wigan have failed to beat United in seven attempts in the Premier League and they’ve looked a bit out of form of late , so a win for them at odds of 11/1 (888sport) isn’t a bet we’d consider.

This looks a banker bet for United and even at 3/10 (Paddypower) the have to be our selection. We’re going to go for United to win to nil at 11/10 (888Sport) and we also think the over 2.5 goals at 9/10 (Betdaq) is worth a bet.

United should win this comfortably and we’re tipping a 3-0 correct score at 15/2 (Bet365). Ryan Giggs 8/1 (Bet UK) is our first goalscorer selection.

SPL

Rangers can go back on top of the SPL if they take all three points from their visit to Hibernian. Rangers have a good record against the Edinburgh side and have won three times in their last four visits. These games usually produce a few goals and the over 2.5 goals is a bet we’re going to be on at 18/19 (Betfair).

Rangers are 1/2 (Sportingbet) while Hibs are 11/2 (Bet UK) to win. We think this is probably Rangers toughest match they have left and we think there could be another twist in the SPL title race and we’re going to go for a draw 3/1 (William Hill). We’re going to have small stake on a 2-2 correct score 20/1 (Stan James). Steven Fletcher at 10/1 (888Sport) looks a decent price to grab the first goal.

Weekend Football Tips includes 10/1 Winner

It was a bit of a mixed weekend as far as the football predictions that featured in our Friday football special article were concerned.

We got just over half of our selections up, but the tips that did win were at some decent odds including a 10/1 winner.

Our free football betting tips gave:

Man Utd to win at 4/11 and the correct score of 2-0 at 9/2

Bolton to keep a clean sheet at 13/10

Blackburn to win Evens and correct score of 2-0 at 15/2

Everton v Spurs to be a draw 11/5

Liverpool to beat West Ham 8/15 the over 2.5 goals at 8/11 and we also got another correct score in this match of 3-0 at 10/1

If you would have backed all our selections to win to a £1 level stake you would still have shown a little profit of + £19.12p

Bet Of The Day-Lingfield 2:40 Oaks Trial

Our Bet of The Day today is at Lingfield in the 2:40 and is Amanda Perret's Tottie.

Tottie's only win came at Brighton in a Maiden over 7f, but she then took a jump in class when running over 1 mile in a listed race at Newmarket where she ran well.

She finished fifth that day beaten just under 2 lengths and she looked as if she was coming with a winning run when she was hampered. The extra distance today looks as if it will suit and she's one horse in the field that we feel will stay the distance today.

Football Tips-Manchester United to win Derby

Premier League

The Manchester derby is always fiercely contested and we don't expect this one to be any different. United have only dropped four points at home this season and even though City visit Old Trafford on the back of three consecutive league wins, their away form this season has been poor and we can't see them taking anything from United.

We're going for the home win for United at 4/11 and we're tipping a 2-0 correct score 9/2.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea will have to overcome the disappointment of midweek Champions League semi final losses when they face each other at the Emirates. We feel that emotions may still be running high in this game and we expect a pretty feisty encounter. Arsenal are unbeaten in 10 in the league at the Emirates and we wouldn't be surprised to see them bounce back from their Euro defeat with a win 6/4.

Bolton look one of the best bets of the weekend at 23/20 we can't see them losing to Sunderland who have looked awful in their last few games. We're predicting a comfortable afternoon for Bolton and we're going to take them to keep a clean sheet 13/10 in a 2-0 win 15/2. Johan Elmander 6/1 is our selection to be first goalscorer.

A win for Blackburn against Portsmouth would probably be enough to see them safe. The are unbeaten in four at home and are a decent price at Evens to get the win. A bet on the 2-0 correct score 15/2 could pay dividends

Could West Brom get another home win against Wigan who have lost their last two on the road? The short answer is NO!! There's going to be no miracle escape for the Baggies this season. We're taking Wigan to win at 2/1.

Liverpool are unbeaten in eight and normally do okay against West Ham. We can see goals in this game and think a bet on the over 2 goals at 8/11 is a banker. The Liverpool win odds are 8/15 and while they may be not too attractive a price they have to be included in accumulators or multiple bets. Yossi Benayoun has scored five goals in his last six starts and he's worth backing at 9/1 to be first goalscorer and at 10/3 to score anytime against his old club.

Our prediction is a 3-0 Liverpool win 10/1

We're going to select draws in the Hull v Stoke match 11/5 and the Everton v Spurs match 11/5

Fulham can get a home win against an Aston Villa side who have looked jaded for weeks now. Bet Fulham's Clint Dempsey to be first goalscorer 9/1

Scotland

The Old Firm clash between Rangers and Celtic is being billed as the title decider ( aren't they always) and the bookmakers have Rangers as favourites at 13/10 with Celtic not far behind at 21/10. A draw wouldn't be a disaster for Celtic and at odds of 23/10 is worth some consideration. We're going to stick our necks out a bit here and go for a win for Celtic.

Their forwards have come back into goalscoring form at just the right time after a lean spell and we're going to have abet on a 2-1 win for Celtic 11/1. Jan Vennegoor 8/1 is our tip to be first goalscorer.

St Mirren still haven't won at their new stadium yet and they could still be waiting after their match with Motherwell. This looks a likely draw 11/5 and it could easily finish 0-0 17/2

All prices come from William Hill Bookmakers

Football Betting-Play-offs

We've decided to split our weekend football betting feature into two parts this week so we can feature the play off games taking place this weekend.

All the prices quoted in the article are available from the Bwin and Bet UK websites and were correct at the time of writing.

Friday

Preston came with a late run to clinch a place in the Championship play-offs and they will be hoping they can continue that run of form in their match with Sheffield United tonight.

Preston have won their last four games and look an attractive price at 5/4 (betuk.com ). Sheffield United have only one win in their last four, but they have only lost one as well, so at 2.85 (Bwin) they will have plenty of supporters.

We think Preston might just be good enough to sneak a narrow lead here and we're going to go for a 1-0 correct score bet at 7.50 (Bwin).

MKDons seem to have recaptured their winning form after a dreadful spell of results and we think the are a great price at 8/5 ( betuk.com) to get a win away Scunthorpe tonight. The Dons have only lost two goals in their last seven games and we think another clean sheet is possible tonight, so we're selecting a correct score bet of 1-0 6/1 ( betuk.com).

Saturday

It's the turn of Burnley and Reading in the Championship and this game could go either way. Burnley have exceptionally good home form and Reading's away form has been good this season(Far better than their home form). Burnley have won their last five at home and we think they might make home advantage count and so we're selecting the home win 2.25 (Bwin).

We're predicting a 1-0 correct score at 6/1 (betuk.com)

Millwall have won their last three home matches, but they need to be at their best if they are to beat Leeds United. Leeds have only lost one of their last six away games and while the atmosphere will be red hot and intimidating we feel that Leeds can at least take a point from the match.

We're tipping a draw 11/5 (betuk.com) and we think it might well be a 1-1 score 6.5 (Bwin)

Sunday

It's the second leg matches in League Two and we're going for Bury to consolidate on their 1-0 first leg win over Shrewsbury. We're selecting a home win for Bury at 2.20 (Bwin) .

In the other match it's finely balanced at 0-0 but we feel Gillingham will win this and at 2.20 (Bwin ) look worth backing. We're betting on a 2-0 win at 10.00 (Bwin)

Bet of the DAY-Chester 4:35

Our selection was pipped into second yesterday and we're hoping we can go one better with Aureate in the 4:35 at Chester this afternoon.

Our selection has course and distance winning form and with a plum draw we expect a big run.

The horse finished third in this contest last year and we think this looks a bit easier than last year's race.

At 10/1 (Sportingbet) we're advising an each way bet.

BET OF THE DAY

Aureate 4:35 Chester

Thursday 7 May 2009

Bet of the Day-1:45 Chester

Our bet of the day today runs in the 1:45 at Chester and is Kingdom of Fife.

The horse drops back in distance today after running over a mile and a half last time out, where he didn't seem to see out the trip. This 1m 2f will be far more suitable and with a decent draw (always needed round Chester) we think there's every chance the horse can gain the third success of his career.

Trainer Sir Michael Stoute has a decent record at the course with his runners and we're pretty confident of a big run.

BET OF THE DAY
