Football Betting Tips - Coventry Can Be Value

Our Friday Football Bets article is now available at our website where you can view all our betting tips on selected matches taking plac this weekend.

We've given you a little taster of some of our selections below-

Coventry have only lost once at home this season and they look as if they will take all three points against a Reading side who are struggling at present. Coventry at 6/4 (Betfred) look very attractively priced and should give us a nice winning bet. We're tipping a 2-1 scoreline 9/1 (Skybet).

There's a basement clash in Scottish Division One when bottom club Airdrie play second bottom Ayr United. Airdrie have lost their last five matches and although Ayr aren't a lot better-one win in six-they could take the three points here at 9/5 (888Sport). We're tipping a 2-0 win 12/1 (Sportingbet).

Both Stockport and Norwich have chalked up a number of draws this season already and we think it's worth taking this match to end up all square too. Neither team is in great form at the minute and so a draw 5/2 (Betdaq) could be the best option.

Tonight's Football Bets

The Carling Cup and Scottish CIS Cup provide the football betting action tonight and we have picked out what we believe to be the best bets from the matches taking place.

The top clash tonight is match between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates. Liverpool ended a run of four defeats with a win against Manchester United last time out, but they will be without Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres tonight and Arsenal could take advantage of their absence.

Both teams are likely to make changes in their line ups tonight and we don't think there will be a great deal between the two teams. One bet we will be having tonight is the under 2.5 goals at 10/11 (Sportingbet). Arsenal are 11/10 (888Sport) to win tonight and we think they are more likely to get a win than Liverpool 5/2 (Paddypower).

With the last four meetings between the teams finishing in draws it could well pay to bet on a draw tonight again 5/2 (Coral). A correct score bet on the 1-1 result 6/1 (Betfred) could also bring a profit.

Chelsea are at home to Bolton in a match we think could be very close indeed. We're going to take both teams to score Evens (888Sport) and also selecting the bet on the over 2.5 goals 3/5 (Sportingbet).

We think Chelsea will get a win 1/3 (Stan James) but only a narrow one. A 2-1 win for Chelsea 44/5 (Betfair) is worth a bet and we also think Florent Malouda 8/1(Stan James) could be first goalscorer.

Manchester City 1/5 (Bet365) look the only possible bet to be on tonight. We're taking them to win to nil 10/11 (Paddypower) and we are selecting the 3-0 correct score 7/1 (Totesport).

In Scotland Celtic are at home to Hearts in an all SPL clash in the CIS Cup and although Celtic's home form hasn't been good great so far this season, we're selecting them to win tonight at odds of 2/5 (Ladbrokes). Our money is going on a 3-1 win 23/2 (Betdaq) and we're having a first goalscorer bet on Barry Robson 14/1 (Totesport).

Friday Football Tips

Over at our website we have published our weekend football selections and you can view the full article here.

Below is a little taster of some of the bets we have given-

Tottenham are playing well at the moment and can beat Stoke at White Hart Lane. Tottenham at 2/5 (BetUK) should be included in any multiple bets. We’re predicting a 3-1 win for Spurs 11/1 (888Sport) and think a bet on Robbie Keane to be first goalscorer 9/2 (Sportingbet) can be a winner.

Charlton are without an away win in three games, but we think they will beat Gillingham and are worth a bet at
5/4 (Partybets). The 1-0 correct score bet 7/1 (Sportingbet) is worth a bet. Deon Burton 11/2 (Ladbrokes) could be worth a bet to be first goalscorer.

The last two meetings between Aberdeen and Dundee United have ended in draws. With Aberdeen having drawn 5 of their 8 league matches this season and Dundee United drawing 3 of their 4 away games this match does look destined to finish all square. The draw is available at 11/5 (BetUK) and looks worth a bet.

Champions League Tuesday

Arsenal should win in Holland against an Alkmaar team who are out of form and finding wins hard to come by. The Dutch Champions have only managed two wins in 8 matches and we can see Arsenal’s attack breaching their defence more than once tonight.

Over 2.5 goals at 8/11 (Stan James) plus the both teams to score bet at 4/5 (Ladbrokes) are both worth considering tonight. We’re tipping Arsenal to win 1/2 (Partybets) and we’re going to take a chance on a 3-1 scoreline 12/1 (888Sport). Robin Van Persie to get the first goal is 9/2 (Betfred) and should be backed.

Liverpool haven’t been at their best in recent matches and if that trend continues tonight, then they could be in trouble against Lyon. There’s been a lack of goals and goalscoring chances for the Reds in their  last three matches and with Fernando Torres going to miss the match tonight we’re worried they won’t be able to break down Lyon who haven’t conceded yet in their two games.

The French team are no easy touch and having won 10 of the last 15 away European ties they have played they look attractively priced at 4/1 (William Hill) to get a win. Liverpool do have a good home record in Europe, but the 18/25 (BetUK) about a home win looks very short considering their current form

We might be proved wrong, but the away win is where we think the money should be going and that’s our selection. The under 2.5 goals looks a pretty solid bet at 8/11 (Toresport) and should be supported. We’re predicting a 1-0 win for Lyon which looks a huge price at 29/2 (Betfair).

Scottish Champions Rangers and their opponents Unirea Urziceni are joint bottom of their group with one point. Rangers caved in badly in their last home game against Seville and were soundly beaten 4-1 while the Romanians were securing a 1-1 home draw against Stuttgart.

Little is known about the Romanians-apart from the fact they are managed by ex Chelsea player Dan Petrescu-but they showed decent spirit in coming back from a goal down against Stuttgart and were unlucky not to take all three points form the match.

This could be a close game and we wouldn’t be surprised to see the match end in a draw 5/2 (Paddypower). The two correct score bets that interest us are the 0-0 17/2 (Sportingbet) and the 1-1 6/1 (Coral) with the goalless draw just getting our vote.

Also from tonight’s ties a bet on Seville to win in Stuttgart at odds of 11/10 (Betfred) could bring a profit, while Barcelona 1/8 (Betfred) and Inter 2/5 (Ladbrokes) are both banker home wins.

Weekend Football Best Bets

You can now view all our weekend best football bets in our Friday Footbal Bets article at our website. A small excerpt of the article is printed below.

Cardiff City have won their last two league matches after a bit of a hiccup and they should take all three points from their home match against Crystal Palace. Six of the last 8 meetings between the two teams have been under 2.5 goals and that bet is available at 9/10 (Bet 365). A bet on Cardiff winning to nil 15/8 (888Sport) is a bet we’d consider in this game.

The home win for Cardiff is available at 3/4 (Bet365) and it looks a pretty decent price for a solid home win. We’re predicting a 2-0 win for Cardiff 7/1 (Ladbrokes).

Partick are on a great run of form at present and have only suffered one defeat in their last 7 games and have won their last three home matches. Opponents Ayr don’t have good away form and so we have to go for a home win for Partick at 8/13 (Betdaq). A correct score bet on the 2-0 result 7/1 (Sportingbet) could be worth considering.

Having suffered only one away defeat so far this season we’re tipping Shrewsbury 10/11 (Coral) as a bit of a banker bet against bottom club Darlington. The 2-0 correct score 17/2 (Sportingbet) is another bet that looks as if it can put some winnings in our pockets.

Raith and Queen of the South have drawn the last twice they have met and the draw looks the best betting option here at 13/5 (Bet365). The under 2.5 goals 4/5 (Sportingbet) and a 0-0 correct 10/1 (Ladbrokes) are two bets we’d recommend.

Tuesday Football Betting

We have picked out what we think are the best bets from the football matches taking place across the country tonight.

In League One Brighton are at home to Gillingham and we think this could be a close run thing. Neither team stand out as likely winners, with Brighton available at 5/4 (Stan James) losing their last two home games and only managing one win at home this season. The form of Gillingham 21/10 (Paddypower) isn’t any better as they haven’t won way in the league at all this season.

That would seem to leave the draw 5/2 (Ladbrokes) as the obvious choice, but we’re not so sure. Three of the last four meetings between the two teams have resulted in wins for Brighton and with no matches having over two goals, the under 2.5 goals 7/10 (Sportingbet) bet looks worthwhile. We’re going for Brighton to win and we’re going for a 1-0 result 7/1 (Stan James).

There are a couple of Scottish League One games taking place and having a bet on Ross County to beat Dunfermline at home could give us a winner. Dunfermline have only won one of their last five games and only managed one away win this season. Ross County are 6/5 (William Hill) to get the home win and that looks a really good price to us and we think they are worth a decent bet at that price. A bet on a 2-1 result 8/1 (Sportingbet) looks worth a small stake.

In the match between Raith and Inverness a draw 12/5 (Betfred) is our choice. Both teams have already drawn a couple of games this season and our selection is going to be a 2-2 correct score 16/1 (Stan James).

Brechin don’t have the best away form at present, but Peterhead have arguably worse home form, so it might pay to go for an away win in this match. Brechin are second in the table at present and have won four of their last five matches so we’re recommending a bet on them to win. Bet on Brechin at 7/5 (Bet365) to bring a profit.

Believe it or not there are FA Cup ties being played tonight in the Fourth Qualifying Round. We think Guiseley could be a good bet at 9/5 (Sportingbet) away at Kendal. Guiseley have won their last six matches against Kendal and look a decent bet here.

Farnborough look a banker bet to beat Heybridge. Farnborough are flying high in the Southern Premier League and even at 1/4 (Coral) we think they should be included in multiple bets.

Weekend Football Betting-Bradford City at Evens Look Too Good a price to Miss

Over at our website we have published our Friday Football Bets feature with a selection of bets from both International and domestic football matches being played this wekend.

Here's a little snippet of what you will find in the article

Bradford City are now 8 games without defeat at home and with a good home record against opponents Crewe a price of Evens (Bet365) appears pretty generous. We have to go for a home win here and think a 2-1 correct score bet 42/5 (Betfair) is worth a little flutter.

Having failed to win any of their last three home games it looks worth a chance opposing Elgin City especially as they are playing Albion Rovers who are the league leaders. Albion Rovers remain unbeaten this season and 13/10 (Coral) looks a pretty good price to be taking on them getting a win. We’re predicting a 3-0 win 25/1 (Sportingbet).

The Republic of Ireland really need to beat Italy if they are to have a chance of winning the group, but we can see Italy coming here and trying to hold on to what they have and play for a point. Ireland managed a 1-1 draw in Italy and we can see a share of the points here too. We're taking the draw 2/1 (Betfred) and will be having a bet on a 0-0 scoreline 6/1 (BETDAQ).

Huddersfield are going through a sticky patch at present and are finding goals a little hard to come by. With that in mind we're having a bet on the draw 11/4 (Bet365) and we wouldn't be too surprised to see this game end in a 0-0 scoreline 12/1 (Betfair).

Aston Villa v Manchester City Betting Preview

The Monday night game live on ESPN is the clash between Aston Villa and Big spending Manchester City.

Both teams will be looking to pick up all three points from the match tonight to keep them near the top of the table. Villa and City will both be looking to try and break the dominance of the big four this season and finish in a top four position. Given how well they have both started the season this looks achievable and neither will want to lose any ground by dropping three points tonight.

Even with so much at stake tonight we can't see either team taking a cautious approach to the match and we think there will be a winner tonight and a draw 12/5 (Stan James) looks unlikely to us.

One bet we will be having is on there being goals and the over 2.5 goals 10/11 (Coral) is worth a punt. Villa had won four league games on the trot before their loss to Blackburn last weekend and they haven't lost at home since the opening day of the season, so they have been in decent form.

Arguably City are in even better form than Villa having only lost once n their last eight matches-to Manchester United in a hotly contested derby match-and they do look in good form. City also have quite a good record in matches against Aston Villa and with City always liable to score a goal or two the away win is going to be our choice in this match.

We're tipping Manchester City to get a win 13/8 (Bet365). We're also having a bet on the half time/fulltime result of Manchester City/ Manchester City at 4/1 (Totesport).

Our correct score prediction is a 3-1 win for Manchester City 27/1 (Betfair) and Craig Bellamy 13/2 (Totesport) is our selection tobe first goaslcorer.

Weekend Football Bets - Burnley Can Prove Value

Our Friday Football Bets article is now available at our website giving some decent value tips for the matches taking place this weekend.

Below is a little sneak preview of some of our tips.

Burnley have won all of their home games in the league so far and we’re tipping them to beat Birmingham City this weekend. The price of 6/5 (Ladbrokes) looks a little generous for a team who are unbeaten at home and is worth taking.

Our money is going on a 1-0 result 7/1 (Stan James).

Shrewsbury have already drawn four of the five home league matches they have played this season and they look as if they can take another point from high flying Shrewsbury.

The draw is available at 23/10 (Partybets) and we also think the over 2.5 goals 11/10 (Betfair) should provide a winning bet. We’re predicting a 2-2 result 14/1 (Sportingbet)

Aldershot are 7/4 (Betfred) to get a win at Lincoln and we’re going for them to win by 2-0 13/1 (Paddypower) Marvin Morgan 13/2 (888Sport) is our choice to be first goaslcorer.

Thursday 1 October 2009

Europa League –Celtic Can Slow Rapid’s Progress

We’re going to have a look at the betting opportunities involving the three British teams in Europa League action tonight.

Everton are away in Belarus against BATE Borisov tonight and in normal circumstances we would be tipping Everton to win tonight at odds of 8/11 (Stan James). However Everton have nine first team players missing for tonight’s game and will have to field some young players in tonight’s match. With that in mind and the fact that Everton haven’t managed to win any of their last five away European ties we think the price on offer is a bit too short to be taking.

BATE are 5/1 (Ladbrokes) to get a win and against an under strength Everton they look to have a great opportunity. At good odds we believe a bet on BATE could prove worthwhile and that’s the bet we recommend.

A 2-1 correct score bet is available at 22/1 (888Sport) and has a decent chance of being a winning bet . In the first goalscorer market Vitali Rodionov 10/1 (Paddypower) looks a decent betting option and is our selection.

Fulham won’t have things all their own way at Craven Cottage against FC Basel tonight. The Swiss team had a good 2-0 win against Roma in their first group match and if they put in another performance like that they will be hard to beat tonight.

We’re a bit worried about Fulham’s lack of goals this season as they have only managed two goals from their three home Premier League games this season. We fancy Basel to find the net tonight and with Fulham’s lack of punch in front of goal we’re not sure they will be able to pull a deficit back if they go behind in this game.

We’re going to have a bet on the under 2.5 goals here Evens (Totesport) and we’re going for Basel to get a win 7/2 (Betfred) by 1-0 16/1 (Betfair).

Celtic’s opponents Rapid Vienna beat group favourites Hamburg pretty comprehensively in their first match and at odds of 6/1 (William Hill) they will attract plenty of support to get a win in Glasgow.

Rapid love to play on the counter attack (as Hamburg found out to their cost) and they will be dangerous opponents. Celtic’s away form let them down again in Israel and they desperately need to get back on track tonight.

Celtic are 4/7 (Paddypower) to get a win and we think they might get one. One bet we will be having tonight is taking both teams to score 13/20 (Sportingbet). Another bet we will be making and one we wouldn’t normally recommend is betting on their being a sending off in the match 7/2 (Paddypower). There’s a bit of history between these two teams and the partisan atmosphere tonight might be even more charged than usual and we wouldn’t be surprised to see some players being caught up in it.

We’re taking Celtic to win and a bet on Celtic to win 2-1 7/1 (Ladbrokes) is our selection. Shaun Maloney 15/2 (William Hill) is our first goalscorer selection.
