Tonight's Football Bets

The Carling Cup and Scottish CIS Cup provide the football betting action tonight and we have picked out what we believe to be the best bets from the matches taking place.

The top clash tonight is match between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates. Liverpool ended a run of four defeats with a win against Manchester United last time out, but they will be without Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres tonight and Arsenal could take advantage of their absence.

Both teams are likely to make changes in their line ups tonight and we don't think there will be a great deal between the two teams. One bet we will be having tonight is the under 2.5 goals at 10/11 (Sportingbet). Arsenal are 11/10 (888Sport) to win tonight and we think they are more likely to get a win than Liverpool 5/2 (Paddypower).

With the last four meetings between the teams finishing in draws it could well pay to bet on a draw tonight again 5/2 (Coral). A correct score bet on the 1-1 result 6/1 (Betfred) could also bring a profit.

Chelsea are at home to Bolton in a match we think could be very close indeed. We're going to take both teams to score Evens (888Sport) and also selecting the bet on the over 2.5 goals 3/5 (Sportingbet).

We think Chelsea will get a win 1/3 (Stan James) but only a narrow one. A 2-1 win for Chelsea 44/5 (Betfair) is worth a bet and we also think Florent Malouda 8/1(Stan James) could be first goalscorer.

Manchester City 1/5 (Bet365) look the only possible bet to be on tonight. We're taking them to win to nil 10/11 (Paddypower) and we are selecting the 3-0 correct score 7/1 (Totesport).

In Scotland Celtic are at home to Hearts in an all SPL clash in the CIS Cup and although Celtic's home form hasn't been good great so far this season, we're selecting them to win tonight at odds of 2/5 (Ladbrokes). Our money is going on a 3-1 win 23/2 (Betdaq) and we're having a first goalscorer bet on Barry Robson 14/1 (Totesport).
