Europa League Betting

Europa League matches dominate the football action taking place tonight and you can read our article outlining what we believe are soem good bets for tonight by following this link to our website.

Here's a little taster of the article and some of the bets we've pinpointed.

Fulham are away to FK Vetra of Lithuania in the first leg of their qualifying tie and they should come out on top in this one. Fulham are 1/2 (Stan James) and we feel they are worth backing at this price. Betting on Fulham to keep a clean sheet 8/13 (William Hill) also looks like a bet worth having.

Aberdeen look a fair price at Evens(Partybets) and have to be worth a bet at that price...

There are plenty more tips for tonight's games at our Website

Hungarian Grand Prix –Bet on a McLaren Revival

The Grand Prix bandwagon rolls into Hungary this weekend with Jenson Button’s 21 point lead looking more vulnerable by the minute. The Brawn GB team cars looked distinctly second best to Red Bull at the German Grand Prix and with Ferrari and the McLaren also showing improvement this race could throw up a surprise or two.

Sebastien Vettel is joint favourite at 11/4 (Sportingbet) with Button to win at the Hungaroring this weekend. We think the driver who might beat both of them is Vettel’s more senior team mate Mark Webber.

Fresh from his win in Germany Webber can produce another good drive that can notch him maximum points. Webber is 9/2 (Bet365) to land the spoils this weekend and he’s a bet definitely worth considering.

F1 giants Ferrari and McLaren have had horrendous seasons so far , but the last couple of races has seen improvement from both and they might not be too far off the pace this weekend.

Lewis Hamilton at 6/1 (Paddypower) has chances as does his team mate Heikki Kovalainen 33/1 (Stan James) who might be worth a little flutter each/way at that price. They might not quite be up to winning races yet, but Kovalainen at 7/1 (Betfred) and Hamilton at 6/4 (888Sport) to make the podium are bets that have a realistic chance of success.

Ferrari would need to improve as well to be serious challengers, but we have a feeling Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa could be front runners this weekend, or at least a lot closer to the front runners than the have been in the past.

We wouldn’t back either to win the race, but Massa 13/2 (Skybet) and Raikkonen 31/5 (Betfair) to make the podium are both have a fair price and they should be considered.

It still looks likely that Brawn and Red Bull could be to the forefront on Sunday and we’re tipping Webber to come out on top.

The other podium spots could be up for grabs and we’re going to take a chance on backing Kovalainen each/way to finish in the first three at a big price.

Hamilton could take the third spot.

Football Tonight Champions League Football

Second leg matches of the Champions league qualifying rounds take place tonight and we’ve picked out a couple of bets that look as if they could be worth backing.

Last week at our website we tipped Irish side Bohemians to get a draw in Salzburg and we also gave the correct score bet of 1-1 at great odds of 14/1. The return leg in Dublin tonight will be a close affair, but we believe the Irish team are overpriced at 4/1 (Bet365) and could be worth backing to complete a shock win.

The Austrians are still strongly fancied by the bookmakers to go through and are odds on at 8/11 (Betfred) to get a win but we’re going to take a chance on the Irish champions.

We’re tipping a win for Bohemians and we’re going for a 1-0 correct score bet at 14/1 (Paddypower).

Northern Irish champions Glentoran are in action at home against Maccabi Haifa, but they are only playing to restore some pride after going down 6-0 in the first leg last week.

We think they will do a little better here, but they are up against a very good side and we’re going for Haifa to win 4/7 (888 Sport). A bet on a 2-1 correct score 15/2 (Sportingbet) with another on the over 2.5 goals 3/4 (Betdaq) look to have a decent chance of getting you some money back.

Polish champions Wisla Krakow nearly came unstuck at long odds on against Estonian minnows Levadia before scrambling a 1-1 draw at home. The might need the away goals to win this and we’re going for a draw tonight at 11/4 (Bet365)

We’re also going to select Georgian team WIT to get a win away from home at odds of 5/1 (Bwin) against Maribor. The Georgian team managed a 1-1 draw despite being reduced to 10 men in the first leg and they look worth a bet at the odds to secure an away win.

There wasn’t too much to choose between the two sides in the first game so we’re going for a 1-0 win to WIT at 27/5 (Betfair).

Winning Wednesday Bets

We had a decent day for winners yesterday even if our Bet of the Day did go down again. We more than made up for that by giving two winners at Lingield in the afternoon at odds of 2/1 and 5/1.

We then moved on to the evening meetings where we kicked the night off at Kempton with 28/1 winner Scampersdale. We then followed that with another three winners at the meeting, at odds of 4/1, 9/4 and 8/1 for a 4241/1 accumulator.

At our website we featured some of the footbal matches being played yesterday and we tippedIrish Champions Bohemians to get a draw in Austria at odds of 11/2 and we also gave the correct score bet of 1-1 at odds of 14/1. Here is what we said about the game.

"Irish Champions Bohemians of Dublin are away in Austria to Red Bull Salzburg in the first leg of their second round qualifying match. The Austrians are warm favourites at 2/9 (William Hill) but we’re going to go for a bit of an upset here and we’re taking Bohemians to get a draw at odds of 11/2 (Betfred). We’re tipping a 1-1 correct score 14/1 (Bet365)."

We give betting tips on most of the major sporting events and at our website you can currently view our Open Golf betting Preview as well as our betting tips on the Ashes 2nd test . Why not visit us here regularly and let us pick the winners for you.

Today's Football Best Bets

There are a whole host of Champions League qualifying matches as well as some pre season friendly matches taking place tonight and we've selected a few bets we believe can get us a return on our stakes.

We've listed a few of our tips for tonight below, but the full article and all our football tips for today can be viewed HERE at our website.

Champions League

Hungarian football is pretty weak and has been for some time, so it may pay to take Swedish side Kalmar win in Hungary against Debrecen. Kalmar are 15/8 (Betfred) and look worth a small bet. The 2-1 correct score at 9/1 (888Sport) is our correct score selection. Daniel Mendes 6/1 (William Hill) is our pick to be first goalscorer.

FC Copenhagen 1/5 (Betdaq) and Wisla Krakow of Poland at 1/6 (Partybets) look home bankers to include in multiple bets.

Friendly matches

Liverpool play their first pre season game tonight against St Gallen in Switzerland and are 4/9 (Bwin) to get the result. Ring rustiness should be the worrying thing to overcome rather than the opposition and we’re going to go for the Reds to have a comfortable win 3-1 10/1 (William Hill). We’re having a little bet on Ryan Babel 6/1 (William Hill) to be first goalscorer.

Plymouth should be too strong for Torquay in their match and we’re tipping Plymouth to get an away win at 6/5 (Coral). Take a 2-0 correct score at 8/1 (Betfred) in this match.

BET OF THE DAY

Monday 13 July

Rothesay Dancer
4:00 Ayr

2pts win 7/2 (Betfred)

Our bet of the day is Rothesay Dancer who we tipped only last week to win at Ascot. Unfortunately the horse didn't win be we reckon it's worth another chance to get into the winners enclosure today.

The horse was held up at Ascot and going extremely well but just couldn't find a gap to get any sort of run and eventually finished eighth. We reckon Rothesay Dancer was extremely unlucky in running and could have finished a lot closer to the winner with a clear run.

In a smaller field today we don't envisage the horse to have any traffic problems and we think the horse can defy top weight and win.

The stunning scenery of Loch Lomond is the background for the Scottish Open where the second roundtees off this morning. You can bet on running on this event at a few bookmakers-including Paddypower as well as on the exchanges like Betfair.

Leader after the first round is Australian Richard Green who is 7 under and he holds a one stroke lead over the rest of the field. Green is favourite at 9/1 to win the tournament but we prefer the chances of hos countryman Adam Scott who looks as if he is returning to some form. Scott is currently two shots off the lead at -5 and at 11 /1 he looks as if he could go close.

Last Year's winner Graeme McDowell is six shots off the lead, but we feel he is still in with a chance of repeating his win and at odds of 60/1 could be wortha little each/way bet as you can still get each way on first four at 1/4 the odds.

A lot of British interest is on young RoryMcIlroy who is only three shots off the leader but 14/1 looks a little too short a price and we think Englishman Kenneth Ferrie at -4 and only three shots off the lead ( he finished joint 6th in last week's French Open) at 66/1 offers far more value to finish top four or even to win the event.

Tere's still a long way to go in the event and we think other players who could go close and give punters a run for their money include Soren Hansen 18/1, Ross Fisher (who is in great form and is 5 shots of the lead at -2) 25/1, we won't be discounting Ian Poulter either at 20/1.

A bet on Ross Fisher to win and on Kenneth Ferrie each/way to finish in the top four at huge odds could bring some winnings.

The prices quoted in the article all come from Paddypower bookmakers.

It's the first day of the July meeting at Newmarket and there are some high class horses running over the next few days. The Ashes-Aussies to Dust Off England

The Ashes start tomorrow with the first test between England and Australia taking place in Cardiff (Hardly a hotbed of cricket and definitely not in England the last time we looked...or has it moved??) Anyway... there are plenty of betting opportunities at the bookies for the test series as well as for each individual match taking place so we thought we'd take a look at some of the bets on offer for the whole series here on the blog.

England ran out winners of the Ashes test back in 2005 and they are a best price of 9/1 (VCBet) to repeat that famous 2-1 victory. While we still bask in the glory of that result, it should be tempered by the fact that the Aussies managed to get their mitts on the urn in the last Ashes series back in 2007 by thrashing England 5-0 and if you fancy that result to happen again you can get odds of 33/1 (Stan James).
If you've completely lost your marbles and reckon England are going to whitewash the Australians then you can get odds of 100/1 (Ladbrokes) for a 5-0 England win.

We reckon there might be one or two drawn games and we're going to go for Australia to win 3-0 14/1 (Paddypower) and 3-1 9/1 (Sportingbet).

If you're looking for a bet on the top series bowler then we recommend the 7/1 (Coral) about Brett Swann, with Ryan Sidebottom a decent each /way bet (1/5 odds to be one of the top three bowlers) at 40/1 (Paddypower).

The top runscorer bet should see Kevin Pietersen 11/2 (Totesport) and Ricky Ponting 6/1 (Betfair) both go close and if you wanted to bet on them we wouldn't try and put you off. They are the obvious choices, so we are going to go for a bit more value and the two players we think can score a few runs throughout the series are Australian opener Simon Katich 10/1 (Ladbrokes) and England's Ravi Bopara also at 10/1 (Sportingbet).

If you think England can win the test series they are available at 7/4 (888Sport) with the draw on offer at 9/2 (Bet365).

When it comes to betting you can never let your heart rule your head,so we have to side with Australia to win the series at 4/5 (William Hill).

With Test matches running over four or five days there are plenty of opportunities for betting in running, especially on the exchanges like Betfair and BETDAQ, so look for better odds there.
We will be previewing the first test in Cardiff and giving our betting tips for the match at our website
