Barclay's Scottish Open Golf

The stunning scenery of Loch Lomond is the background for the Scottish Open where the second roundtees off this morning. You can bet on running on this event at a few bookmakers-including Paddypower as well as on the exchanges like Betfair.

Leader after the first round is Australian Richard Green who is 7 under and he holds a one stroke lead over the rest of the field. Green is favourite at 9/1 to win the tournament but we prefer the chances of hos countryman Adam Scott who looks as if he is returning to some form. Scott is currently two shots off the lead at -5 and at 11 /1 he looks as if he could go close.

Last Year's winner Graeme McDowell is six shots off the lead, but we feel he is still in with a chance of repeating his win and at odds of 60/1 could be wortha little each/way bet as you can still get each way on first four at 1/4 the odds.

A lot of British interest is on young RoryMcIlroy who is only three shots off the leader but 14/1 looks a little too short a price and we think Englishman Kenneth Ferrie at -4 and only three shots off the lead ( he finished joint 6th in last week's French Open) at 66/1 offers far more value to finish top four or even to win the event.

Tere's still a long way to go in the event and we think other players who could go close and give punters a run for their money include Soren Hansen 18/1, Ross Fisher (who is in great form and is 5 shots of the lead at -2) 25/1, we won't be discounting Ian Poulter either at 20/1.

A bet on Ross Fisher to win and on Kenneth Ferrie each/way to finish in the top four at huge odds could bring some winnings.

The prices quoted in the article all come from Paddypower bookmakers.
