Our Pick of the Weekend Football Bets

The weekend football fixtures can once again prove to be full of rich pickings for punters. We have listed a selection of our best bets below. You can view all our football betting tips for matches taking place this weekend at our website.

Walsall have won their last 5 home games against Gillingham and 11/10 (Partybets) looks a fantastic price for a home win. We do expect this to be a close match and we’re tipping Walsall to win by 2-1 8/1 (888Sport). Sam Parkin 13/2 (Bluesq) looks worth a bet to be first goalscorer.

Alloa look near certainties to take all three points from a Clyde team who look set to struggle at this level this season. We think Alloa are one of the best bets of the day at 6/5 (Totesport) to get an away win.

Three of the last four meetings between Chesterfield and Morecambe have ended in draws. The 11/4 (Bet365) is a decent enough price to make us go for another draw this time. We’re tipping a 1-1 scoreline 13/2 (888Sport).

Dundee look set for the three points at Airdrie and they look a banker bet at a decent price of 10/11(Coral).

Europa League Football Betting

There’s a bit of British interest in the Europa League qualifying stages tonight and we’ve picked out a few bets that look as if they can bring some returns.

If you want to bet on Aston Villa tonight, then you won’t get a huge return on a win over Rapid Vienna at odds of 3/10 (Partybets), but there are other bets available that we think can bring a nice profit.

With Villa trailing 1-0 from the first leg we think they will look for an early goal and so taking the half time/fulltime result of Villa/Villa at odds of 5/6 (888Sport) looks a decent option. The over 2.5 goals 3/5 (Sportingbet) also looks a bet to consider.

We’re tipping Aston Villa to win by 3-0 8/1 (Ladbrokes) and taking Ashley Young 38/5 (Betfair) to be the first goalscorer.

We think a bet on Everton to win against Sigma at odds of 21/20 (BetUK) can be a winning one .Everton won the first leg comfortably and we can see them winning again tonight.

Having a bet on Everton to win 2-1 9/1 (BETDAQ) can pay off. Taking both teams to score at 10/11 (Ladbrokes) is also a bet worth considering. In this match we are going for Fellaini to be first goalscorer at odds of 10/1 (888Sport)

Having won the first leg 3-1 Fulham don’t need to go chasing the game in Russia against Amkar and should be capable of seeing the game out.

It could pay to take the under 2.5 goals in this match at 5/6 (Bluesq) as we don’t see a lot of chances being created. We’re selecting a draw 12/5 (Betfred) with a 0-0 scoreline 6/1 (Partybets).

We’re taking Hearts to restore some pride after their heavy first leg defeat to Dinamo Zagreb and get a draw 12/5 (Betfred) at Tynecastle tonight.

We’re predicting a 1-1 scoreline 32/5 (Betfair) and think a bet on Suso 16/1 (888Sport) could pay off at a big price.

St Patrick’s Athletic have a tough task at home against a strong Steaua Bucharest side and are 4/1 (Ladbrokes) to get a win. The Irish side have put in some very good performances in this competition, but we can’t see them getting a win tonight.

Steaua at 8/11 (Paddypower) look a decent price and have to be our selection at that price.

Monday Night Football-Liverpool v Aston Villa

After an opening day defeat at Tottenham Liverpool gathered themselves together and put in a good performance to get a comfortable 4-0 win against Stoke.
Villa have only played the one league game so far, a 2-0 defeat at home to Wigan. Villa were very poor in that match and an improved performance will be needed if they are to get anything from tonight's match. Villa also lost in Vienna last week in the Europa Cup and once more failed to find the net-and made very few chances.

With Liverpool having a good home record and Villa making a very ordinary start to the season, betting on a home win for Liverpool 4/9 (888Sport) looks like the bet to be taking here. The fixture last season ended in a 5-0 win for Liverpool and a repeat of that score is available at 50/1 (Bet365)

While the home win does look like the only option we're not so sure that the price is value. It's true Villa haven't managed a win in their last 15 matches against Liverpool and a win tonight 9/1 (BETDAQ) is unlikely, but 6 of those 15 matches have been draws and three out of the last five meeetings have ended level after 90 minutes.

With Villa likely to be happy with a point tonight we think betting on the draw 7/2 (Coral) is worth chancing. Taking the under 2.5 goals Evens (Stan James) is another bet that interests us.

Our prediction for tonight's game is the draw and we're tipping a 1-1 result 9/1 (Skybet).
Dirk Kuyt 36/5 (Betfair) is our selection to be first goaslcorer.

Weekend Football-Best Bets

Last weekend our Friday football bets article gave some nice priced winners including a 33/1 winner when we correct;y predicted a 2-0 win for Wigan at Aston Villa.

We are hoping we can give plenty more winners today. Here's a little taster of our tips for this weekend.

Bradford were tipped by many to be involved in the promotion race this season, but they have started poorly and haven’t even managed to score a goal yet. They go to unbeaten Cheltenham on Saturday and we think Cheltenham are a decent price at 6/5 (Totesport) to get all three points.
We’re having a bet on the over 2.5 goals at 11/10 (BETDAQ) and having a bet on Cheltenham to win 2-1 8/1 (Sportingbet).

Kilmarnock kicked off their campaign with a good 3-0 win over Hamilton. They have a good record against Motherwell losing only once in their last eight league meetings with the Lanarkshire team and they look too good a price at 13/5 (Paddypower) not to back.
It should be quite a close match but we’re selecting the 2-1 correct score for Kilmarnock 12/1 (Skybet). Danny Invincible 12/1 (Betfred) could be worth a small stake to be first goalscorer.

Queen of the South have drawn their first two games of the season and we think it’s worth chancing them to get three in a row in their match against Partick Thistle.
The draw is priced at 13/5 (Bet365) and we’re tipping a 2-2 correct score 16/1 (Ladbrokes).

We had a winning Bet of the Day yesterday and you can see our slection for Wednesday Here

The big race at York today is the Ebor Handicap at 3:25 and Aiden O'Briens fast improving Changingoftheguard is likley to go off favourite. We think he's a bit too short at around 5/2 and we're going for The Betchworth Kid each/way at 28/1 (Coral) as a better value alternative.

Take Celtic to Gun Down Arsenal

There’s a Battle of Britain clash in the Champions League tonight when Arsenal travel to Glasgow to take on Celtic.

Arsenal were in scintillating form on the opening day of the Premier League season with a thumping 6-1 win over Everton at Goodison. Celtic also got their season off to a winning start with a 3-1 victory away at Aberdeen.

The bookmakers have Arsenal as favourites to win the match tonight with a best price of Evens (888Sport) being available. After the way they won at the weekend it’s easy to see why the bookmakers have taken no chances, but we think that price is way too short. to be taken with any great confidence. Although the bookmakers and most of the media seem to think this will be straightforward victory for the Gunners we don’t see it that way.

.European nights at Parkhead are pretty special and the crowd definitely inspires the home players to produce exceptional performances. There are other more tangible facts as to why this tie might be a lot closer than a lot of people think.

Even although Celtic lost at home to Dynamo Moscow in the last round their home record in Europe is exceptionally good. Their record in Europe against English teams is also good. Celtic have lost just 3 of the 14 matches they have played against English opposition and in recent seasons have beaten Manchester United, Blackburn and Liverpool in Europe.

We think the 16/5 (Skybet) on offer for a Celtic win looks very tempting given how good their European record is at home and we’re going to go for the home win in this match.

The draw is 12/5 (Bet365) and that is another possibility and if you fancy a draw tonight we wouldn’t put you off your selection.

Our prediction is a home win for Celtic and we’re predicting a 1-0 win 23/2 (Betfair).

A bet on Scott McDonald to be first goalscorer at 8/1 (Paddypower) could bring a return.

It's the first day of the York Ebor meeting with the big race today the Juddmonte Stakes. It's only a small field with just the four runners, but there is quality in the race.

Derby winner Sea The Stars trained by John Oxx takes on three Aiden O'Brien runners, including the highly rated Mastercraftsman. Sea the Stars looks good enough to see off hos rivals, but there is a little doubt about the ground which might just give Mastercraftsman a chance.

Football Betting Tips

Our Friday Football bets article is now up at our website and you can see all our best bets for this weekend's football fixtures.

As usual we've gone for what we believe are decent value bets to maximise any profits we make from our bets. The selections are all free and you can read a little bit from our article below.

Four of the last 10 meetings between Tottenham and Liverpool have ended in draws. Another share of the points looks more than possible this weekend and we think a draw at 9/4 (Stan James) is worth a bet.

Notts County have to be worth chancing at Evens (Sportingbet) to get the win at Macclesfield after the way they beat Bradford last weekend. We’re predicting a 2-0 win 21/2 (Betfair). Lee Hughes 9/2 (Ladbrokes) can be the first goalscorer.

Kilmarnock look set to start their season with a win against a Hamilton team who have sold all their top young players. We feel Kilmarnock will do reasonably well this season and at Evens (Stan James) to get a home win appear to be overpriced in our opinion.
Kevin Kyle could be a good bet to get the first goal at 11/2 (888Sport).

League Winners Football Accumulator

We know a lot of people like to have a bet on who will win the Premier League title as well as place multiple bets on other leagues to hopefully land a big payout for a small stake. We’ve looked at the major leagues in Britain and hopefully our notes and advice can help you choose your selections

Premier League

Forget about anyone breaking into the top four this is down to the four big teams again and your pick should come from one of them. We think the title will be a close affair this season and so do the bookmakers. Manchester United have lost Ronaldo and Tevez and do look weaker than they were last season, and they are a best price of 5/2 (Ladbrokes) to win the title. Chelsea are slight favourites at 2/1 (Betfred) but we feel their priority may well be the Champions league and if there were to be a choice later in the season the Blues might well put all their resources into Europe.

Arsenal have made no big name signings and have lost a coupe of senior players. Their young talented squad players may well have to step up to the plate this season and we think they could fall just short of being real title challengers. At 10/1 (Ladbrokes) they could be worth sticking in as each/way choices in an each/way accumulator.

Our tip to win the Premier League is Liverpool 4/1 (Betfred). They showed last term that they can sustain a serious challenge over the course of the season and despite losing Alonso they look to have a real chance of winning the title.

The Championship

Al three relegated teams from the Premiership last season Newcastle 7/1 (Bet365), West Brom 6/1 (Stan James) and Middlesbrough 37/5 (Betfair) appear to have every chance of coming straight back up. Cardiff 14/1 (Betfred) have a decent squad and could be worth an each/way. Newly promoted Leicester City are our longshot bet here and could be worth backing each/way at odds of 22/1 (Coral).

Our Pick to win the Championship is West Brom. They’ve been here before and know what it takes to get out of this division.

League One

Leeds United were surprisingly beaten by Millwall in the play offs last season but we don’t think they will make any mistakes this time and we think they justify favouritism at 11/4 (Totesport). Southend look overpriced at 40/1 (Ladbrokes) and could be worth a small stake each/way. Tranmere 50/1 (Betfair) also look too big a price. They just failed to make the play offs last season and look as if they could maybe sneak a promotion place this season. Orient 40/1 (Coral) are an improving side and it wouldn’t surprise us at all to see them near the top of the league come the end of the season.

Our pick Leeds United. Look to have the strongest squad and if they can keep hold of Jermaine Beckford should lift the title.

League Two

All the smart money has gone on Notts County to win the league. New investors, the arrival of Sven… it all looks good. They do look a bit short a price at 11/4 (888sport) to win the title however. Money does speak volumes at this level of football and they have to be respected, but they did finish 16th last season and turning that into a title winning team may be even beyond Sven and Co.

Rotherham would have been right up there last season if it wasn’t for a points deduction imposed on them. At 7/1 (Bluesq) they look decent value and we can see them doing well. Bournemouth 14/1 (Paddypower) are another team who finished off well last season and can be involved in the shake up this term.

Our dark horses here are Crewe 28/1 (Skybet) They will no doubt find new talent as they always seem to do and back in the bottom flight they may well find things a little easier. If they get on a winning run they could be a surprise package.

We’re taking Rotherham to pip moneybags Notts County to the title in League Two.

SPL

Will it be Celtic or will it be Rangers? One thing’s for sure it won’t be anybody else.
Rangers Evens (Betfred) haven’t made any new signings and money is extremely tight at Ibrox. They may need to sell to get quality into the club in the January window if they trail in the league.

Celtic 5/6 (Skybet) appear to have some money and that may be a help in their title challenge. They do have a new manager who may need time to bed in new players and systems and we can see them being inconsistent because of that.

Our pick is going to be Rangers. They haven’t changed their team or playing style and should hit the ground running and this could just give them a vital edge.

USPGA Golf

The USPGA golf tournament starts later today at Hazeltine with Tiger Woods favourite with the bookmakers to win. This is Tiger's last chance to win a major this season and we wouldn't be surprised to see him pull it off, even if he is too short a price in our opinion at 2/1 (Paddypower).

We've picked out a few players who we believe can put in decent performances at big odds. Here is an excerpt from our article at our website

Justin Leonard is consistent and accurate and having finished fourth here before in this tournament he appears to be overpriced at 100/1 (Bet365) who are paying 1/4 odds for a top 6 finish. Leonard could be worth backing Each/way as we think he has a live chance on this course.

Taking Westwood to be top European at 13/2 (Skybet) is another bet to be considering.

Tonight’s Football Best Bets

World Cup qualifiers, International friendlies and Carling Cup matches offer plenty of betting opportunities for anyone wanting a punt on the football tonight.

We’ve gone through the fixtures and picked out what we think are the best bets available.

Scotland go to Norway in a World Cup qualifier needing three points to cement their second place position in the group. It’s going to be a tough task for George Burley’s men especially as Norway are also desperate to take all three points from the match as they have only managed three points from their five group games so far.

The match between the two teams at Hampden last October ended 0-0 and that’s the result we think might be worth backing again tonight.

We’re tipping a draw 5/2 (Totesport) and a 0-0 correct score 7/1 (Paddypower).the under 1.5 goals at 2/1 (Betdaq) is another bet that could prove to be a winner.

England have picked tough opponents for their friendly match tonight when they play away in Holland. This is another match we think could end in a draw 9/4 (Skybet) and we’re going for a 1-1 correct score 11/2 (888Sport). A bet on Robin Van Persie to be first goalscorer at 7/1 (Ladbrokes) can bring a return.

Northern Ireland are in pretty good form at present and at 6/4 (William Hill) they look a decent enough price to be backing to get a win against Israel. This won’t be an easy match but a narrow win is possible and so we’re tipping the 1-0 correct score here at odds of 15/4 (888sport). Martin Paterson 7/1 (Bet365) is our pick to score the first goal.

The last time Wales played in Montenegro they lost 1-0 and we believe they can get their revenge for that defeat tonight. There has been signs recently that Wales could be improving and if they can only get some consistency into their performances could see their FIFA rankings considerably improve.

We’re taking Wales to get a win 3/1 (Ladbrokes) and we’re recommending a small bet on a 1-0 correct score 9/1 (Bluesq). Sam Vokes 10/1 (Stan James) is our pick to be first goalscorer.

The Republic of Ireland may have to settle for a draw 9/4 (Betfred) in their friendly match with Australia. The Aussies are pretty difficult opponents these days and we’re tipping this match to end 1-1 31/5 (Betfair).

Other bets we like in the Internationals taking place tonight include Iceland 15/8 (VCBet) to win at home against Slovakia.

Other possible home wins worth looking at include Ukraine 5/4 (Betfred) Denmark Evens (Ladbrokes) and Sweden 8/13 (William Hill).

We think there could be away wins for Lithuania 7/10 (VCBet), Romania 9/5 (Bet365) and Belgium 9/2 (Skybet).

In the Carling Cup we’re taking Coventry 4/5 (Betfred) to win against Hartlepool.

Weekend Football Tips

Our selections for the best bets from this weekend's football matches are available at our website in our Friday Football Bets article.

We're hoping we can kick off the new season with a few decent winning bets and we hope you will vist our Pickabet.co.uk website to read th earticle and find yourself some winning bets.

In the meantime here's a small extract from the article.

Two of the favourites for promotion from the Championship meet at the Hawthorns when West Brom play Newcastle. Newcastle have transferred out a few players this week and that must have affected their preparation. West Brom are always hard to beat at home and this could be a wake up call for the “Toon.” West Brom look a fantastic price at 5/4 (Betfred) and can edge a win here. The 2-1 correct score 17/2 (Sportingbet) has a decent chance of providing a winning return.

Chesterfield finished 10th in league Two last season, but they had the third best away record in the league. They travel to newly promoted Torquay and at odds of 9/5 (BetUK) look a good bet to get an away win. We’re tipping a 2-0 correct score 14/1 (Paddypower).

Here at Pickabet we love to put a bit of cash into the pockets of our readers and last month we managed to do that again with our featured BET OF THE DAY at our website.

Our bet of the day feature made another profit last month and if you would have placed a bet on our selections to just a £5 stake per recommended point you would have made a profit of £281.00 for the month.

That’s a profit in the month of July of £55.20 for only £1 level stake.

Since we introduced our bet of the day back in the middle of March we have managed to make a profit every single month. Our strike rate of winning bets is currently running at around the 25% mark, but as we try and tip big priced horses and very rarely go for the short priced favourites that’s not too bad a percentage. There can be spells between winning bets, but the prices on the winning bets soon compensate for any losses.

So far in the five months we have featured our Bet of the Day you would have made a profit of :

£ 144.55 - to just a £1 level stake

£722.75 - to a £5 level stake

£1445.50 –to a £10 level stake

£ 3613.75 – to a 25 level stake

And if you were staking £100 on our selections you would have made £14,455.00 so far this year to a £100 level stake.

As you can see by the results it pays to follow our selections at Pickabet.co.uk.
