Wimbledon Match Betting Tips For Friday

It's day five of Wimbledon and we have picked out some bets we think can put some winnings in our pockets.

Roger Federer is first on centre court today and he should have no trouble in disposing of Philipp Kohlschreiber. We’re taking a straight sets win at 2/7 (Paddypower) and we’re also having a bet on the first set score of 6-2 to Federer at 11/2 (William Hill)

Mardy Fish has a game good enough to trouble anyone when he is on form and we think he could cause an upset against the Number Four seed Novak Djokovic today. Djokovic hasn’t been convincing in his matches so far and didn’t play particularly well against Simon Gruel in the last round.

Fish likes to play on grass will be a far tougher opponent for Djokovic than Gruel and at odds of 7/2 (Stan James) we’re taking Fish to win the match. We think a bet on the match going to four sets at 11/8 (William Hill) could be worthwhile.

Ivo Karlovic the number 22 seed plays the number 9 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in a match of two big hitters. Both these players rely heavily on the big serve and we can expect close sets with few breaks of serve. Tsonga is favourite to win at 8/15 (Coral) but we think that’s a bit too short a price given how closely matched these two players are and we’re taking a chance on Karlovic to win at 13/8 (Paddypower).

We’re going for Karlovic to win 3-1 11/2 (888Sport).

Serena Williams should stroll through her match with the unseeded Italian Roberta Vimci. Williams is far too short a price to contemplate backing to either win the match or win in straight sets so we’re going to go for the set scores here instead.

Serena Williams is 11/1 (Paddypower) to win the first set 6-0 and 12/1 (William Hill) to win the second set to love. We’ll be having a little bet on both.
