Wimbledon Day One Betting Tips

Wimbledon gets underway later today and each morning on the blog we'll be picking out a few bets for the day we think will bring a profit.

You can read our preview of the event and the players we believe will make an impact on the tournament over the next couple of weeks at our website at http://www.pickabet.co.uk/. We've given our selections for both the men's and womens singles competitions and hopefully we've tipped the eventual winners.
There are usually a number of surprises in the first round and we've picked out a few matches taking place today that we belive can throw up a few winning bets at decent prices.
The home crowd will have young Laura Robson to cheer on this afternoon and although she looks to have an extremely tough task against Daniela Hantuchova, Robson could be lifted by a partisan home crowd and her forst appearance in the Senior Wimbledon event and at 5/1 (Sportingbet) she could be worth a small bet to kick off the tournament with a decent priced winnner.
Aliysa Lebanova is seeded 27 for this years Wimbledon, but her opponent Sesil Karanatcheva holds a 1-0 win rcord over her higher ranked opponent and could cause a little upset at 2/1 (Betfred).
16 year old Portugese player Michelle Larcher de Brito is tipped by many to become a major player over the nect few years and she can win her first Wimbledon match at 15/8 (Betfred).
In the men's matches today Santiago Gonzalez looks a decent price at 6/4 (Ladbrokes) and Michael Yanni at 11/8 (888Sport)
At shorter prices to maybe include in multiples, we like Jie Zheng 1/4 (Stan James),Janko Tipsarevic 1/4 (Ladbrokes), Nicolas Mahut 4/11 (Betfred), Natalie Dechy 4/9 (Paddypower) and Sania Mirza 8/13 (Betfair)
