Newcastle Sale Everything Must Go-Even The Manager?

Well what a surprise! Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has put Newcastle United up for sale for £100 million and all the players are reportedly available for transfer too.

It seems that Newcastle just go from one shambolic situation to another and it must be like a bad dream for their fans at the moment.

This new action by owner Ashley has put into doubt the permanent appointment of Alan Shearer as manager and his odds have lengthened from 4/11 to 8/11(Skybet). It's believed the relationship between the two men is not good at present and with West Brom reportedly waiting in the wings with an attempt to attract Shearer to become their new boss (if current baggies boss Tony Mowbray goes to Celtic-which looks certain) it could pay to take the 3/1 on offer on Shearer becoming the new West Brom boss.

Currently Newcastle are as low as 4/1 (Paddypower) to get automatic promotion next season and as short as 5/4 (Coral) to be promoted. These odds don't look particularly attractive at the moment given the current situation and uncertainty that now surrounds the club.

The sale of some high earning player's would have been no surprise , but stating all the player's are up for sale smells a bit like desperation and looks to be more of a "Closing Down " Sale than a cost cutting exercise.

Will Shearer Go? We believe it's more than likely he won't be around to try and guide Newcastle back into the Premiership next season-unless new buyers of the club keep him at the helm-if Mike Ashley is still in charge.

We won't be rushing to back Newcastle to come straight back up next season and maybe the best bet would be on Alan Shearer Not being at the club next season.
