Europa League –Celtic Can Slow Rapid’s Progress

We’re going to have a look at the betting opportunities involving the three British teams in Europa League action tonight.

Everton are away in Belarus against BATE Borisov tonight and in normal circumstances we would be tipping Everton to win tonight at odds of 8/11 (Stan James). However Everton have nine first team players missing for tonight’s game and will have to field some young players in tonight’s match. With that in mind and the fact that Everton haven’t managed to win any of their last five away European ties we think the price on offer is a bit too short to be taking.

BATE are 5/1 (Ladbrokes) to get a win and against an under strength Everton they look to have a great opportunity. At good odds we believe a bet on BATE could prove worthwhile and that’s the bet we recommend.

A 2-1 correct score bet is available at 22/1 (888Sport) and has a decent chance of being a winning bet . In the first goalscorer market Vitali Rodionov 10/1 (Paddypower) looks a decent betting option and is our selection.

Fulham won’t have things all their own way at Craven Cottage against FC Basel tonight. The Swiss team had a good 2-0 win against Roma in their first group match and if they put in another performance like that they will be hard to beat tonight.

We’re a bit worried about Fulham’s lack of goals this season as they have only managed two goals from their three home Premier League games this season. We fancy Basel to find the net tonight and with Fulham’s lack of punch in front of goal we’re not sure they will be able to pull a deficit back if they go behind in this game.

We’re going to have a bet on the under 2.5 goals here Evens (Totesport) and we’re going for Basel to get a win 7/2 (Betfred) by 1-0 16/1 (Betfair).

Celtic’s opponents Rapid Vienna beat group favourites Hamburg pretty comprehensively in their first match and at odds of 6/1 (William Hill) they will attract plenty of support to get a win in Glasgow.

Rapid love to play on the counter attack (as Hamburg found out to their cost) and they will be dangerous opponents. Celtic’s away form let them down again in Israel and they desperately need to get back on track tonight.

Celtic are 4/7 (Paddypower) to get a win and we think they might get one. One bet we will be having tonight is taking both teams to score 13/20 (Sportingbet). Another bet we will be making and one we wouldn’t normally recommend is betting on their being a sending off in the match 7/2 (Paddypower). There’s a bit of history between these two teams and the partisan atmosphere tonight might be even more charged than usual and we wouldn’t be surprised to see some players being caught up in it.

We’re taking Celtic to win and a bet on Celtic to win 2-1 7/1 (Ladbrokes) is our selection. Shaun Maloney 15/2 (William Hill) is our first goalscorer selection.
