Aston Villa v Manchester City Betting Preview

The Monday night game live on ESPN is the clash between Aston Villa and Big spending Manchester City.

Both teams will be looking to pick up all three points from the match tonight to keep them near the top of the table. Villa and City will both be looking to try and break the dominance of the big four this season and finish in a top four position. Given how well they have both started the season this looks achievable and neither will want to lose any ground by dropping three points tonight.

Even with so much at stake tonight we can't see either team taking a cautious approach to the match and we think there will be a winner tonight and a draw 12/5 (Stan James) looks unlikely to us.

One bet we will be having is on there being goals and the over 2.5 goals 10/11 (Coral) is worth a punt. Villa had won four league games on the trot before their loss to Blackburn last weekend and they haven't lost at home since the opening day of the season, so they have been in decent form.

Arguably City are in even better form than Villa having only lost once n their last eight matches-to Manchester United in a hotly contested derby match-and they do look in good form. City also have quite a good record in matches against Aston Villa and with City always liable to score a goal or two the away win is going to be our choice in this match.

We're tipping Manchester City to get a win 13/8 (Bet365). We're also having a bet on the half time/fulltime result of Manchester City/ Manchester City at 4/1 (Totesport).

Our correct score prediction is a 3-1 win for Manchester City 27/1 (Betfair) and Craig Bellamy 13/2 (Totesport) is our selection tobe first goaslcorer.
