US Masters Golf Tips
The US Masters golf tournament tees off later today and we've picked out a few bets we think can bring a return on our stakes.
Tiger Woods is a hot favourite at around odds of 9/4 but we've picked out some big priced players who we think will have a decent tournament.
The last two winners of the tournament Zach Johnson and Trevor Imelmann went off at three figure prices and Imelmann was priced at 360/1 on the betfair exchanges before the tournament started.
We have a betting preview in more detail available at our website where we have prices from popular bookmakers, but here we've used prices from Betfair where the win prices are at least 20% more than traditional bookmakers.
Here is a quick rundown of our selections :
Padraig Harrington- (ODDS 20/1) He's our tip to win the tournament and has improved every time he has played the Augusta course. We think he has an excellent chance of winning and looks an each/way certainty.
Zach Johnson- (ODDS 49/1) Won this tournament when a big outsider in 2007. Played well in his latest tournament when finishing Third. We know he can play the course and he may have hit form at just the right time. Looks likely to be in contention.
Pat Perez- (ODDS 169/1) He has already won a tournament this year and comes into this on the back of a fourth place in his last tournament. He looks to be overpriced and could go well at a huge price. A small each/way bet could bring a nice return.
Sean O'Hair - (ODDS 74/1) Has now started 12 majors and looks to be due a top six finish. He is another player who looks to be in decent form coming into the event and his chance has to be respected.
Rory McIlroy- (ODDS 39/1) The young man from Northern Ireland looks set to have great future in the game and has been well backed at big prices for this tournament. No rookie has won this since 1979, but quite a few have finished top five and we think if he plays up to his best could be troubling the leaders on the final day. Another good each/way bet.
John Merrick- (ODDS 799/1) Yes I know I'm bonkers tipping somebody at this price, but he really does look well overpriced for the tournament. This is only his fourth year as a pro and he's made the cut in eight of the 10 tournaments he has played in this season. He's finished second and been in the top ten twice as well. A long hitter he will be suited by this extra long course and if he can keep his short game together could finish in the money at a massive price. At a huge price has to be worth a Small each/way bet.
All the above prices are from the Betfair website and you can place a bet there just by clicking on the banner below.
There's a free bet of 25 quid for anyone opening a new account.
